Dear Ella Marija Yelich - O'Connor - "Lorde",

We are Israeli citizens who support Palestinian civil society’s call for BDS.

We'd like to thank you for taking the time to listen and discuss Israel's systematic oppression of the indigenous Palestinian people, and for deciding to make the right call and boycott the apartheid regime.

For two weeks we've followed  the unfolding events, as Israeli embassies, PR groups, and retired spokespersons, attempted to appropriate your concert and endorse it, not least Israel's Minister of Culture. In her appeal to you, the state representative of culture, Regev clarifies her hope that you might ignore Israel’s daily, systematic violations of Palestinian rights and lives, because heroes are apparently those who say nothing.

We hope that other artists adopt your open minded attitude towards human rights defenders who approach them about Israel's crimes.

Thank you, Lorde, for taking action in the face of oppression. It means everything.
